White Tara Mandala

Invoking Goddess Compassion and Longevity

White Tara  Mandala depicts the female Bodhisattva, symbolising supreme knowledge, perfect harmony, longevity and purity. At its heart lies White Tara Syllable Mantra, radiating serene empathy that reaches all sentient beings. The Mantra of White Tara is Om Tare Tuttare Ture Mama Ayuh Punya Jñana Pushtim Kuru Svaha. This mantra is invoked for long life, healing, protection, and wisdom, the attributes that White Tara possesses.

By creating the White Tara Mandala, the artist allows oneself and all others to become filled with affection, loving- kindness and compassion. The artist lays the sacred geometry to place the central deity with its three dimensional palace, which is then surrounded by rings of lotus, vajra and flames. The diagram allows the artist or the practitioner the opportunity to travel from the samsaric world to the celestial space of the deity, to become one with the deity of the Mandala and cultivate its attributes.

This mandala serves as both a meditative gateway and a visual invocation of the deep, healing embrace of compassion that White Tara offers the world. The White Tara Mandala reflects the essence of purity, longevity, and maternal compassion. At its center sits White Tara, the seven-eyed goddess of healing and long life, whose gaze sees into all realms of suffering. The mandala is a sanctuary of peaceful energy, its white and gold tones evoking transcendence and timeless grace. Each petal, line, and deity radiates nurturing energy, guiding the viewer toward inner balance and spiritual longevity. It is a refuge for those seeking renewal and the gentle, unwavering love that leads to enlightenment.

She is white in color and is dressed as a Bodhisattva. White Tara is seated in the padmasana pose and is adorned with jewels. She molds the Varada Mudra by way of her right hand and holds a lotus with three blossoms in her left. The lotus symbolizes purity, renunciation, and divinity. It also represents the Buddha's endless wisdom and compassion. The three blossoms of the lotus flower represent the past, present and future Buddhas, allying White Tara with the spirit of the Buddha. White Tara has seven eyes, one on each palm and foot, and three on her face including one in the forehead symbolizing her omniscient vision.
